Hunter Biden’s federal gun crime trial heard testimony from his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who described discovering evidence of his crack cocaine use in 2015 and remaining worried about his substance abuse issues throughout their marriage, which lasted from 1993 to 2017.

Buhle testified that Hunter acknowledged smoking crack to her and that she believed he was discharged from the Navy for testing positive for cocaine.

She expressed concern over his drug use transforming him into an angry and short-tempered person.

“When Hunter was using, he was not himself and angry, short-tempered, and acting in ways he didn’t when he was sober.” Buhle said, noting that he was “smoking crack the day after our anniversary.”

The trial examines charges that Hunter purchased guns illegally during a period of drug abuse.
